Overview

A wake-up with the German breakfast wùrstel or simply bauernfruhstuck will highlight your day for this long tour within the German cities.

This tour will explore most of the east and west of German, our departure will be from Frankfurt Center, covering the basic outskirts of the best sightseeing regions while slightly heading to Munich.

A tour of flavors, panoramas and art: visiting Germany and its cities means immersing yourself in history and in the places where the most famous European artists lived, breathing their art, their music and their novels.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Frankfurt

Upon arrival you will be picked and transfered by our representative to your hotel for a relax. Depending on time of arrival, you may stroll along the streets of Frankfurt experiencing your first quick city glimpse.

Day 2 Erfurt - Weimar

The itinerary starts from the east of Germany, a land rich in history and art. The first stop we recommend is Erfurt, Thuringia. You could take a walk along the streets lined with lively half-timbered houses and reach the Kramerbruecke, the longest inhabited bridge in Europe. For lunch we suggest you to taste Bratwurst, a typical spiced sausage and, in the afternoon, you could continue to Weimar where a guided tour of the enchanting city-museum awaits you, a cultural center where artists of international caliber lived and worked.

Day 3 Leipzig - postdam- Berlin

Today Leipzig awaits you, a city that tells the story through views and monuments. Here we recommend you take a walk and discover the historic center: the Marktplatz, market square, the late Gothic church of San Tommaso (where Bach played) and that of San Nicola. In the afternoon you could then continue to Berlin by stopping at Cecilienhof Castle, where the Potsdam conference was held in 1945. Arrived in the capital, we recommend you to have dinner with beetroot soup with croutons of black bread and sour cream with herbs.

Day 4 Berlin

Today you will start your day discovering Berlin with a guided tour of the capital, a walk to admire monuments such as the famous Brandenburg Gate, the austere Reichstag, seat of Parliament or the Neo-Baroque Cathedral. You could then go on admiring the splendor of Charlottemburg Castle that became worldly lounge in the eighteenth century, the frenetic Alexander Platz and all the symbolic places of divided Germany: the remains of the wall, the memorials and checkpoints. In the evening, we recommend trying Berlin-style beef with crispy onions and mashed apples and potatoes.

Day 5 Berlin

Today you could spend another day in the capital of Germany. In the morning we recommend a visit to the Pergamon Museum which houses works related to Anatolia. Worth seeing is the Ishtar Gate which gave access to the city of Babylon. You could then choose to spend the afternoon on the ship that offers a relaxing cruise on the Spree. You will admire Museum Island again from another perspective, the architecture of the city and the modern soul of Berlin. In the evening we recommend you try the game aspic with mustard cream and fried potatoes.

Day 6 Berlin - Dresden

Today Dresden awaits you, the capital of Saxony compared to Florence for the wealth of monuments and works of art, for the history and the atmosphere imbued with cultural liveliness. You could visit the historic center, admire the Baroque Cathedral and the refined Opera House. After having lunch we suggest you visit the Zwinger's Alter Meister Art Gallery: you will see works by Rembrandt, van Dijck, Raffaello, Canaletto and many others. After admiring the Baroque architecture of the Royal Palace, you could have dinner with the pig with the sauerkraut.

Day 7 Dresden - Nuremberg

Today you could spend another day in Dresden: we recommend you visit the La Volta Verde Museum where you will admire the largest jewelry collection in Europe, from the jewelry of Augustus the Strong to the famous green diamond of Dresden, the largest in the world. Alternatively you could enjoy a cruise on the Elbe, to admire the breathtaking landscapes of Saxony on board the boat. In the evening you could reach Nuremberg: after a walk you can have dinner with deer stew with cranberry sauce.

Day 8 Nuremberg - Dachau - Munich

The historic center of Nuremberg awaits you this morning: you could indeed visit it and admire its medieval splendor, faithfully rebuilt after the bombings of the last war. After a lunch of sausages and sauerkraut, you could leave for Monaco. On the way you might stop at Dachau concentration camp to learn about the atrocities committed by the Nazis. Finally, if you decide to arrive in Munich, you could relax a bit in the English garden before having dinner and trying the traditional Bavarian dishes.

Day 9 Munich

In the morning take advantage of the guided tour and stroll through the squares, churches and palaces, discovering the Marienplatz and admiring the architecture of the Church of Our Lady. For lunch, we recommend tasting the herbal Spaetzle. In the afternoon instead you could take a trip to Lake Chiemsee, panoramic with its islands and the royal castle. For dinner you could then delight the palate with typical Munich dishes.
