With its imposing ramparts, fortresses and the magnificent cathedral, Valletta is not only the capital and the beating heart of Malta, but also an invaluable jewel of the Baroque style. You will discover all the artistic and historical wonders of this city in a relaxing walk through the suggestive streets of its center. In the afternoon we suggest a visit to the Archaeological Museum where you can also admire the Sleeping Goddess, dating back to 3000 BC. Returning to St. Julian for dinner you could reach the port area.
Already included: Walk with a private guide in the center of Valletta
Today we advise you not to miss the natural spectacle of the Zurrieq Valley that will leave you breathless. You could take a boat ride along the coast and visit the wonderful Blue Grotto: a rock formation where all the nuances of the sea are refracted. Then we advise you to take a walk in Marsaxlokk, an ancient port where you could taste the mussel soup. In the afternoon the protagonist could be prehistory. Built with giant stone blocks, the megalithic temples of Mnajdra and Hagar Qim are the oldest in the world. Then continue the journey to Ghar Dalam, the cave of darkness.
There are many beauties kept in small Gozo, which we recommend you visit today. From the temples of Ggantija, so imposing that according to legend they were built by the giants, up to the heart of the medieval Citadel, the island presents itself as a treasure trove of priceless treasures, as well as being a natural paradise. After a garlic octopus you could relax on the beaches of Gozo, such as the rocky one of Dwejra. If you prefer sandy beaches, Ramla Bay is the largest and most unusual: in the sun it shines a golden red color.
Once you arrive in Mdina, the ancient Mosta, you will notice the immense dome of its church, the third largest in the world. Here you could relax in the suggestive streets enclosed by imposing Norman walls. In the afternoon we recommend you to visit Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea the three fortified cities of Valletta, which were the first base of the Knights on the island. Walking, have fun collecting in your photos all the colors of the Gallarija, the typical terraces of Malta.
It's time to pack your bags, enjoy once again the enchanting panorama of the Maltese coasts while traveling to the airport. Once taken off, the island will become smaller and smaller from the airplane window and to keep you company during the flight home there will be the precious and beautiful memories collected these days.
