Today we recommend you take a tour of the historic center of Amsterdam. Medieval in character, the city center consists of the beautiful Dam Square and the Royal Palace, the ancient heart of the city, the alleys, and Kalverstraat, the main shopping street. If you love art we recommend you visit the Van Gogh Museum, which houses the artist's masterpieces such as "Sunflowers", "Mandorlo in fiore" and "Il seminatore". In the evening you could relax enjoying a dinner based on typical dishes and refined wines.
A possible itinerary for today touches Volendam, a pretty village in the municipality of Edam, and the Ijsselmmer, the largest freshwater lake in Europe. Another destination that we recommend is the late Gothic Grote Kerk, with its beautiful tower and magnificent windows and the eighteenth-century town hall. In the afternoon you could visit Zaandam: stroll through its historic center and observe its wonderful canals. The Czaar Petet Huisje is also worth a visit, where Peter the Great worked under a false name as a worker to learn carpentry techniques.
Your trip to Holland could continue with Utrecht, where you can admire the Cathedral Tower, visible from every corner of the city, stroll through the enchanting pedestrian center and observe the magnificent canals that decorate it. If you prefer, you can visit Gouda, famous for its irresistible cheese and full of canals, delicious bridges and historic buildings. Another unmissable destination is Rotterdam, where you can spend some time going around the canals on the Spido Boat and where you can enjoy an excellent fish dish.
If you decide to stop in Rotterdam today you could visit the Kinderdijk complex: 19 windmills included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You could then reach Delft, famous all over the world for its wonderful blue ceramic. Here you could visit the Voor de Kunst, the smallest museum in the world, an old telephone box that has become an exhibition space, and the Prinsenhof Museum, which is located in the Prince's Palace and where William I of Orange was murdered.
The Hague, with its majestic buildings, immense parks and museums, is also worth a visit. We advise you to stroll through the historic center which develops around the Binnenhof, the oldest nucleus, with the Parliament Building and the seaside area of Scheveningen. Another suggested destination is Leiden, dotted with stately buildings, antique shops and beautiful churches. If you love art, instead, go to Haarlem, where you can visit the Teylers Museum, the oldest museum in Holland, and the Grote Kerk, a church that houses an organ played by composers of the caliber of Mozart and Schubert.
Your journey has come to its last stop: Amesterdam, where it all started. If you have some time before taking the direct flight home, you could still take a walk through the streets of the city and look at what impressed you most about her. You can go into one of the shops and choose the souvenir that will remind you of this wonderful experience forever.
