Today you could visit the historic center of Basel: the medieval cathedral where Erasmus of Rotterdam is buried, the Red Sandstone Town Hall and the famous bridge over the Rhine River. For lunch, among the many delicious dishes to taste there are the crispy fillets perch cooked with beer batter. In the afternoon, with your time, take the road that leads to Freiburg, the heart of the Black Forest, Germany.

You could dedicate the first part of the day to visiting the center of Freiburg, with the important university and its Gothic churches. For lunch we recommend the gnocchi with Swiss cheese and onion. For the afternoon, instead, you could reach Breisach, a small town on the Rhine, dominated by St. Stephen's Cathedral. We advise you to end this part of the trip by returning to Freiburg and, for dinner, you could taste the deer stew.

Today you could leave for a truly suggestive excursion in the famous Black Forest and stop in Gutach to visit the extraordinary open-air museum that traces the history of Germany and its traditions. In the afternoon you could stop in Schwabach, Triberg and Lake Titsee, unmissable destinations on this trip to Switzerland and Germany. Back in Freiburg, for dinner you could taste the beef fillet with sour cream, dumplings and leek.

Fifth day of the holiday: today we suggest a pleasant day trip to the Hohenzollern Castle near Hechingen. The romantic Bavarian castle will fill your camera with shots. For lunch we recommend you try the German soups. Before returning to Freiburg you could stop in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald, where the German clock museum is located. Back in the city you could taste the lentil stew with sausage for dinner.

Your destination today is Zurich, reach it freely, but on the way we recommend you stop in the bombastic town of Schaffhausen: not far from here, in fact, there are the splendid Rhine falls. For lunch we recommend you not to miss the fillet of pork with Emmentaler cheese. If you arrive in Zurich in the late afternoon, after a ride on the streets of the city, you could have dinner with a delicious soup with truffle.

Overlooking the lake, the historic center of Zurich is worth a visit with the two Protestant churches, the town hall and many museums. We recommend an excellent fondue for lunch, while in the afternoon an excellent idea is to be lulled by a boat trip on the lake, perfect for admiring the view from a different point of view. Back in the city you could end the day with the Zurich-style veal stew.

Your holidays are coming to an end, but no more melancholy! Two more steps through the streets of the city on the lake to the last minute purchases and then off to the airport, where you will return the rented car. During the flight, just take a look out the window to say goodbye to the Black Forest one last time.
